Blackhawks' Keith takes home Norris Trophy

06/23/2010 - Las Vegas, NV (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith won the 2010 Norris Trophy, which is given to the defenseman voted to display the best all-around talent in the NHL.

Keith, a five-year veteran, finished last season with career highs in goals (14), assists (55) and points (69). He also ended with a plus-21 rating in 82 regular-season games.

The 26-year-old Winnipeg native also showed brilliance in the playoffs, recording two goals and 17 points in 22 contests for the Stanley Cup winners.

He is the first Chicago backliner to win the award since Chris Chelios was named best defenseman back in 1996.

Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings and Mike Green of the Washington Capitals were the other two finalists.

Boston Bruins blueliner Zdeno Chara was honored in 2009, breaking a three-year grip that Detroit Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom held on the award from 2006-08.
