07/02/2010 - San Diego, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Michael Bourn started a three-run 10th inning with a two-run triple, and the Astros took a 6-3 win from San Diego to kick off a four-game set from Petco Park.
Jeff Keppinger singled in Bourn to make it a three-run game and finished with three RBI overall. Jason Michaels homered and had two hits for Houston, which won a combined 17 games through the first two months before going 14-14 in June.
Chris Sampson (1-0) pitched a scoreless ninth for the win and Matt Lindstrom closed it out for his 19th save. Starter Brian Moehler went 5 2/3 innings and was charged with just a run on four hits.
Luke Gregerson (2-3) was roughed up in the extra frame to take the loss, San Diego's third in four games. David Eckstein, Chris Denorfia and Oscar Salazar recorded runs batted in, while starter Jon Garland surrendered three runs on six hits with a season-high six walks in five innings.
Gregerson recorded two quick outs in the 10th, but ran into trouble with back- to-back walks to Humberto Quintero and Oswaldo Navarro. Bourn broke the tie score by lacing a triple to the right-center gap and Keppinger added insurance with a base hit to right. Lindstrom retired the side in order to make the rally stick.
Michaels belted a leadoff homer to open the scoring in the second and Keppinger later added a two-out, two-run single with the bases loaded for a 3-0 edge.
San Diego got on the board in the fifth courtesy of a pinch-hit RBI single from Denorfia, then tied it with two in the seventh off Wilton Lopez.
Nick Hundley led off with a triple and came home on a sacrifice fly by Salazar. Tony Gwynn Jr. followed with a base hit, advanced on a balk and scored on Eckstein's single back through the middle.
The Padres couldn't capitalize on a Chase Headley two-out double in the eighth and Houston stranded a runner at second with one out in the ninth.
Game Notes
The Padres took two of three from the Astros earlier in the year, but Houston has won 10 of the last 13 in the series, including four of the last five in San Diego...Headley went 3-for-4 with two doubles...The Padres stranded seven runners in all, while Houston left 12 on base and was 3-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

The AFC South and the NFC East are the favorite divisions to have the next Super Bowl champ among them in the NFL betting odds. But more down to the point, these football odds are in favor of the Indianapolis Colts, by far the strongest team in the AFC South, and the Dallas Cowboys of the NFC East.
Most sports fans would agree that these two teams top the list to win it all before the season even begins. In the BetUS Sportsbook football futures, the Colts are +800 in the odds to win the Super Bowl, while the Cowboys are sitting at +1000 and the Super Bowl XLIV champions New Orleans Saints at +900. In the AFC South, the Colts won the division for five straight years after the 2002 realignment, before the Tennessee Titans won it in 2008. But the Colts came back strong in 2009 to win the division again en route to the Super Bowl. The Cowboys are the favorite to win the NFC East, as well as to advance far into the post season. The Cowboys won the division last season before their horrendous loss in the NFC Divisional playoff to Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings. But the ‘Boys will take that loss humbly and be ready for the playoffs this time around.
The NFC South is also very strong, at +600 in the NFL futures, considering that it is home to the defending Super Bowl champions. However, some predictions have the Atlanta Falcons with possibilities of claiming the divisional title this season in place of the Saints, as no team has won back-to-back division championships since the division realignment took place. Let’s not overlook the AFC North at +500. As TO goes to Cincinnati to join Chad OchoCinco and Adam “Pac-Man” Jones, this team looks to claim the division title again. And it is likely they will do so. The Bengals lost in the AFC Wild Card spot in a hard-fought battle against the New York Jets last season. Lest not forget the Pittsburgh Steelers, the XLII Super Bowl Champions… All these teams present interesting odds and matchups for the upcoming season, but the safest and surest bet seems to be with the Colts in the AFC South and the Cowboys in the NFC East.
